Olympic Competitor nr 1701
The most remarkable gymnast of Olympic history: he had a wooden leg! The fact that he also competed in the all-round event of the track-and-field programme is a misnomer - this was the second part of the Turnverein combined event. In fact, he finished dead last in this sub-event!
