He was the helmsman who was declared a professional, resulting in the disqualification of the Swiss boat. Strangely enough, he was allowed to compete in 1948 and '52.

It is logical to assume that the boat actually sailed (at least) one race, since they should have been able to compete regularly (even four-handed) if they had been told about the possible disqualification in advance. I consider the five crewmen true Olympians.
