I usually class Soviet athletes according to their birthplace, because they have often moved solely because of sporting reasons. This athlete did the same, having started volleyball in het native Krasnodar, moving to Uzbekistan in 1965 in order to play with Spartak Toshkent. However, she stayed in Uzbekistan after her career, died there in 2012, and was president of the Uzbekistan Olympians Association, president of the Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation, and vice-president of the Uzbekistan National Olympic Committee.
