One of the greatest French riders, from the famous Cadre Noir at Saumur,
he had a military career, becoming a colonel in 1952. He took part in five
Olympic Games over a period of 24 years. He was twelfth in the three-day
event of 1948.
His post-war dressage successes were all on Harpagon.
