A French Québec nationalist, he entered the Olympic competition under his usual pen-name. His entry is listed in the Official Report as representing France. I do not know if this is a mistake or whether he did not like to be associated with Canada. Still, just as with Baron de Coubertin (who entered the games under a German pseudonym), I class this competitor under his true nationality, Canadian.

There are seven hockeyers on the 1964 Hong Kong team that come from Macao. Although they have different histories with regards to Hong Kong, it seems clear that Macau athletes were accepted in the Hong Kong delegation. Therefore, I will consider them as being from Macau.
Since Macao does not currently have an NOC, these athletes must be considered of Chinese nationality.

The most successful bobber in history. He won 11 world titles, 8 in two-man (1957-61,63,66,68) and 3 in 4-man (60,61,68). At Igls (Innsbruck) in 1964, he loaned his axle to Antony Nash, thus enabling him to continue after his own axle had been broken. The British competitor went on to win the gold medal in front of two Italian sleds.
Already the oldest medallist at Innsbrück, he was of course the oldest gold medallist at Grenoble.
He would probably have won more medals but for the American reluctance for buiding a bob-course at Squaw Valley.
