Besides being the figure for the Berlin games, he is most remembered for
a certain 25th of May 1935 at Ann Arbor, Michigan, when he beat or equalled
six world records within 45 minutes. His jump of 8.13 would be the world
record for twenty-five years, until Ralph Boston
jumped 8.21 in 1960.
Owens turned professional soon after the Berlin Games.
