After the break-up of the Soviet Union, Sedykh has represented both the Ukraine
and Russia. He married twice, to Russian Athletes and had a daughter with both of
them. His daughter Oksana Kondratyeva competed for Russia, while his other daughter
Alexia Sedykh competed for France. The World Athletics Website calls him Russian.
I shall do the same.
He was world champion in 1991.
The top-three from the Moskva Olympics returned to Seoul eight years later and
again formed the entirely Soviet podium.
