Member of the Soviet Sabre Team that won gold at Mexico City, Montreal and Moskva.
He was born in Russia, but his family moved to Donetsk (Ukraine) and then Lviv (also Ukraine), where he started to fence. In 1969 he moved to Minsk (Belarus). He became a coach, from 1994 onwards in Livorno (Italy). In 2002 he returned to Belarus where he became General Secretary of the Boxing Association. And in 2007 he returned to Russia. I shall go with his birthplace, Russia.
