His real name was Josef Stalder-Fuchs.
His sixth place on the horse in 1948 was actually an eighth. three finns (Heikki Savolainen, Veikko Huhtanen and Paavo Aaltonen) had shared a gold medal, and a silver and bronze was also awarded (those people would be called fourth and fifth from 1952 onwards). Two other people also shared the sixth (eighth) place, so actually ten people were sixth or higher.
