At the 1900 Olympics, he played tennis for the TC de Puteaux, and he is classed in the French "team" by the OlyMADMen, but not by me.
He was entered for the Golf tournament as well, and he might have been classed as German in that one, since he competed for a Golf club from Bad Homburg.
In 1896, he suggested that Dwight Davis ought to grant a prize for a tennis tournament, which Davis indeed did - the Davis Cup was born.
