In his penultimate match, against Dimitar Stoyanov, he needed a win, while his opponent needed a win by fall. If the Bulgarian would win by decision, they would both be eliminated. During the match, they stopped to talk, and Stoyanov stopped fighting. Koridze thus got into the final, which he won. Stoyanov was disqualified.
